Originally from Los Angeles, DayOne’s work captures organic moments that evoke intense feelings of different human emotions as portrayed in his portraits of people. In addition, his landscape photography and looping videos of landscapes in motion can be described as tranquil, bright and bold. When reflecting on the photos DayOne has published “I love telling the story behind each of my photos. I can recall most details of that very moment. Most likely because nothing was forced. These were not big productions by myself, but they are natural moments that I am blessed to come across during my journey.”
The inspiration for DayOne comes from the practice of living in the present moment. Not looking back to the past nor looking too far in the future. “If you’re having a bad day…just let it go and remember that tomorrow is Day One. If you’re having amazing day…enjoy each moment of that day and don’t take anything for granted. Don’t expect to have the same amazing day tomorrow. Treat each day like it’s Day One. We tend to often say that we’re do ___ one day. Instead of one day, start it on Day One.”
